The Changing Video Consumption Habits

Which is not news to anyone with a smart mobile phone, and looking around Bahrain, that’s just about anyone. Unfortunately; however, there is no credible research done to find out the actual habits of media consumers in Bahrain. Thought again, from my personal observation, I would venture to say that the our numbers in Bahrain should easily surpass those which are presented in the following infographic. The content of what we watch here might be different, but at least watching videos on the mobile and on connected TVs as well have now become the norm in this country.

Why then are companies and advertisers shying away from utilizing this medium? Maybe they don’t understand it yet, preferring the horrible street lamp and pavement advertising boards which are nothing more than a visual massacre of the environment. Add to that the mediocre quality of the internet here as well as its non-competitive high pricing between all the operators. In spite of all this, people in Bahrain – young and old – prefer to watch their videos on their mobiles and connected TVs and the future looks to an even more consolidated shift from traditional advertising and distribution methods.

The faster advertisers here wake up to that fact, the better for them.

Here’s the infographic for your further information.
